The next Wachtelhund import, a brownscheck will be arriving early February, 2008 for Todd Ingstad, ND from Hermann Kramer, kennel is Von Der Spukecke.
Wachtelhund imports arriving January 8th, 2008 going to Barrett Downs, ID and Linda Cline, BC. The lighter blond pup is a female going to Linda. The darker red pup is going to Barrett. The breeder is Udo Drepper of Arnsberg-Uentrop, Germany. Udo's kennel is Vom Plackweg. Udo has been breeding Wachtelhunds for more than 35 years and has bred more than 35 litters. Both sire and dam of this litter have excellent rated hips.

Two female Wachtelhund imports
arrived mid May 2007 for Kraig Glazier, Last Chance
Wachtelhunds and Frank Yanz. They are from Vom Eschenbach kennel. Parents are both schimmel, both Sire and Dam have hips
certified - excellent. The Sire placed first in his juvenile and intermediate
hunt tests. The Dam placed third in her juvenile, first in her intermediate and
third in her advance hunt measurement tests.
Two male and
four female Wachtelhund pups arrived Wednesday, July 26th, 2006 from Germany
for Kraig Glazier, Montana; Daneil Marks, Illinois; Nora Clough, Illinois; Jamie
Ford, South Carolina; Cory Giertz, Wisconsin; Chris VanDamm, Wisconsin.
These were all bred by

Two male and three female Wachtelhund pups arrived in April and May, 2006 for Cliff Brown, New Jersey; Randy Whiting, Oregon; John Adams, Kentucky; Mike Laaksonen, Wisconsin; Tom Halstead, Kansas and Wes Robert, Ohio.
Cliff's pup will arrive April 13th from Karl Birgden. You can scroll down to read about Karl Birgden. Karl has bred Wachtelhunds for more than 36 years. We imported a pup from him last year.
Wes's pup will arrive April 23rd from Dirk Busch. Dirk Busch is a forester and this is his family's 19th Wachtelhund litter. His family has been breeding Wachtelhunds since 1968. From '68 to '78 his father, also a forester, bred 8 litters. There was a pause in breedings between '78 and '92. In 1992, he took over the breeding and kennel name from his father and has bred 11 litters since.
Tom Halstead and John Adams will get pup in May from Werner Barth. Werner Barth is also a forester and has been a VDW member and Wachtelhunds for many years. He bred his first Wachtelhund litter in 1979 and then he started breeding again in 1993. He has bred ten litters of Wachtelhunds since then.
August 2nd - A brown Wachtelhund arrives August 2nd for Bill Wright, Boulder Brook Kennel. Bill currently has a two year old female brown Wachtelhund which he brought over from Germany. Bill's new Wachtelhund is coming from Johannes Hesse, also a forester. Johannes' kennel name is "Vom Sauerland".
August 2nd- Faust Eggefreund arrives August 2nd for Jason Moen. Breeder is Alexander Konerding. Alexander grew up with Wachtelhunds, his father was a hunter a raised Wachtelhunds. Now Alexander is taking over the breeding. His kennel name is Eggefreund. This is his second litter. All of the pups from his first litter were rated HD-A, equivalent to our OFA hip rating of excellent.
August 2nd - A female Wachtelhund pup will arrive for Jeff Bullock. Breeder is Udo Drepper, kennel name is Vom Plackweg. Udo Drepper has been breeding Wachtelhunds for more than 30 years and has bred more than 30 litters. He is breeding is red Wachtelhunds.
August - Gary Gerhrman is importing a schimmel male Wachtelhund. The breeder is Hans-Uwe Ickler, kennel is Weidelsburg, a well know kennel. Hans-Uwe Ickler is the VDW club officer in-charge of all the Wachtelhund testing in Germany, he breeds brown, schimmel and red Wachtelhunds and has two litters at the moment. Gary's current Wachtelhund is from Monica Abbs.

June 17th, 2005 - Two female Wachtelhund pups arrived in the States. One is Jim Jones. The other is belongs to Bill Jones. Both will eventually be bred. The breeder is Josef Breunig. Both the Sire and Dam have earned their Natural Blood Trailing title's in actual hunting conditions and are proven predator/varmint killers, in addition to passing other various Deutscher Wachtelhund hunt measurements tests. I know I have mentioned on several pages in this site that the Germans are very passionate and dedicated to their Wachtelhunds. Josef Breunig is one of those individuals. He has owned and bred Wachtelhunds for 50 years. The two female pups arrived on June 15th, 2005 are from his 80th litter. That is dedication!!

Jacob von der Sägenschmiede arrived April 14th, 2005, for Jim Jones. Karl Birgden is the breeder. Karl has been a member of the German Wachtelhund Club for 40 years. He has been the Breeding Chairman for his State in Germany for 35 years, and has bred 43 Wachtelhund litters.
