Minutes of the January 12, 2009 Executive Meeting
Dave Pepe called the meeting to order at 9:05
PRESENT:
Chairman Dave Pepe, Deputy Chairman Bill Wright, Secretary Sal Jafarace, Dave Dyer (Acting Judge Warden), and Aaron Kenstler Treasurer; Founding members Cliff Brown, Kraig Glazier, and John Gliva
Reading of the minutes was read by Dave Pepe, motioned to be accepted by Bill Wright and seconded by Dave Pepe. They then were accepted as the minutes for the Executive Meeting January 8, 2009.
OLD BUSINESS:
VDW RELATIONS:
Dave Pepe provided a brief run down on what has been happening with the VDW. Dave Pepe talked about the letter he received a couple of days ago. The letter stated that they want us to become members of one of Germany’s State group. They would support us with judging and other club support. But that is not what was agreed on with the previous Chairman and was unacceptable. Dave Pepe drafted a letter to be E-mailed to the new Chairman which will be put into the next minutes as a reference.
LOGO:
Dave Pepe asked Aaron Kenstler to go over the logo. Aaron stated that we need to make a decision quickly so he can get the logo done before the Pheasant Fest. Since more people on the forum voted for the round one. We decided to go with that one with the animals below. Aaron asked again for someone to take a picture for the logo. Dave Pepe asked Cliff Brown to get a picture of his dog to Aaron because he is a good candidate. Cliff said ok. Aaron is going to start working on the new logo.
Registration:
Dave Pepe reviewed what we have decided on fees, breeding, and registering Wachtelhunds with the DWNA. It was asked if there were any questions or things that might need tweaked and no one spoke up.
New Business:
Club Insurance:
Dave Pepe has been checking into club insurance. He stated that it would cost between $500 to $600 dollars per year. Dave Dyer was asked to look into it a little more and see if there were any other options out there. This is something the DWNA is going to keep working on and we are going to revisit it at the next meeting.
DW Rescues:
There was a lot of discussion on what to do with this issue. So much so that it was decided to open a thread on the forum for suggestion and revisit the issue at the next meeting.
Independent Board Member:
We need to find out if there is any thing in the constitution for this. John Gliva said he would look into it. Sal Jafarace was asked to put a post up to all members to recommend someone who would be interested in lending there services.
Other Business:
Bill Wright asked to vote on a new Judge Warden. Dave Pepe nominated Dave Dyer and Kraig Glaizer seconded it. Dave Dyer was voted in unanimously.
It was also brought up to keep looking for conference services until the end of the month when our free trial expires.
Dave Pepe thanked everyone for their time and efforts.
Kraig Glazier thanked everyone for their time and efforts.
Dave Pepe gave the set up days and tear down days for the Pheasant Fest in Madison, WI. Thursday is set up day and we can not tear down till 5:00 p.m. Sunday. Chris VanDamme and Dave Dyer will be attending the Pheasant Fest with Dave Pepe. Dave Pepe also stated that it did not cost the DWNA any money for the booth. Cost is $10.00 per person per day to get in. Dave Pepe will get three exhibitor passes, additional one are $5.00 per day; for those interested. If anyone wants to go, they need to contact Dave Pepe. Aaron Kenstler and Dave Pepe will be working on a brochure to be handed out at the Pheasant Fest and the banner.
Bill Wright motioned to adjourn and seconded by Dave Pepe. Meeting adjourned at 10.40 p.m. est.
Respectfully submitted,
Sal Jafarace
